Training [23 August]

The Secondary One cadets have attended a lecture on Crime Prevention and after going through a test, it is pleasing to know that all have passed with high distinctions. Well Done!


For the second part of the day, the Secondary One cadets had their campcraft test in preparation of their LCP Promotion. However, there are still cadets that didn't manage to name out the knots (correct spelling) and its uses.

Figure-of-Eight Knot: Acts as a stopper knot
Clove Hitch: To secure a rope to a pole (object)
Manharness: Acts as a handle for hauling objects
Fisherman's Knot: Join two ropes of equal thickness
Sheet Bend: Join two ropes of unequal thickness
Sheepshank: Shortens rope without cutting
Bowline: To secure a rope to a ring/ eye
Reef Knot: Parcel tying/ First Aid bandaging

Round Lashing: Used to bind two spars together
Square Lashing: Used to tie two  spars together perpendicularly
